Ranisui Lake Trek (3850m)
This trek offers a journey through an enchanting and timeless trail used by the legendary Gaddi Shepherds, traversing the almost untouched mountain wilderness of the majestic Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar Ranges. Still very few visitors find their way here. You must be prepared for adventure, but will be rewarded by views to treasure forever. It is a strenuous ascent to the last ridge below Khanpari Tibba peak to Rani Sui. There will be steep climbs and short stretches of scree and snow.

Trip Overview

Day Wise Program

Day 01 - Manali - Lama Dugh (3017m) Duration: 5-6 hours
The climb is through thick forests but there is no water point after departing from Manali. As one gains height in this steep climb, the distinct views of different faces of Indrasan, Deo Tibba and peaks of Bara Shigri glacier open up. In the last lag, the path turns to the right and one traverses the ridge horizontally and enters the campsite on an alpine plateau studded with thick growth of alpine flowers.

Day 02 - Lama Dugh - Ranisui (3850m) Duration: 6-7 hours
The trek is through a steep ridge below Khanpari Tibba (4025m). From this point one can have a magnificent glimpse of Manali, situated on the left bank of River Beas and of the whole upper Kullu valley, which appears swathed in the different colors of the season. The lake at Rani Sui is a small mountain tarn with a 360 degree view of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar Ranges.

Day 03 – Ranisui- Maili Thach (3480m) Duration: 4 hours
The route is moderate gradient to steep. The vast meadows keep going along all the way till the Camp at Maili Thach. These meadows are fully covered with colorful wild flowers, a perfect sight to be at. En route the moraines ridge will be faced. The boulders and rocks here are so huge that reminds of a prehistoric time. From this point one can have a magnificent glimpse of Manali.

Day 04 – Maili Thach – Shangchar & Drive to Manali
Today we have steep and zig zag trail to descent with the golden oak forest. We reach at Shangchar in evening, and then drive to Manali. Trek ends with great memories.
